Pact Works Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026
This policy explains how Pact Ops Inc. ("Pact Ops," "we") handles personal information when you use Pact Works and the Pact Workspace portal (the "Service"). Pact, the law firm, has its own privacy policy for its legal services and website; this policy covers only Pact Works.
What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email, business name, sign-in details | To create and run your account |
| Billing information | Plan, billing address, payment status; card details are held by LawPay, not us | To charge fees and keep billing records |
| Content you enter | Answers in playbooks, documents you prepare, files you upload | To provide the Service to you |
| Usage information | Pages and features used, device and browser type, IP address, approximate location | To keep the Service secure and working, and to improve it |
| Messages | Emails and support requests you send us | To respond and keep a record |
How we use it
To provide, secure, and support the Service; to process payments; to send account and billing notices; to improve the playbooks and product; and to meet legal obligations. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your content to advertise to you.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that help us run the Service under confidentiality obligations: hosting, email, analytics, and payment providers (LawPay).
- Pact, the law firm, only when you ask. If you request attorney help or a document review, we share the information and documents needed for that request with the law firm, starting with what it needs to check for conflicts. The law firm may use AI-assisted tools, including Anthropic's Claude, to help with that work, with an attorney reviewing the results, as its privacy policy describes. We don't otherwise share your account or content with the law firm.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Service.
- Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, subject to this policy.
Cookies
We use cookies needed to sign you in and keep the Service secure. We don't use cookies for advertising.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, consistent with New York's SHIELD Act, to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Retention
We keep account and content data while your account is open and for 90 days after it closes so you can export it, then delete or de-identify it. We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Your choices
You can update your account information in Pact Workspace, export or delete your content, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing team@pactworks.co. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time; we will still send account and billing notices.
Children
The Service is for adults using it for business. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
US only
The Service is offered in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes
If we make a material change, we will email you before it takes effect and update the effective date above.
